Hi, I’m Erica, and I am so glad you’re here.

I am a former teacher (Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, concentration in Deaf Education) and have taught first grade, second grade, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing Early Childhood Special Education. I completed COPAA’s SEAT 2.0 training; a nationally developed and recognized year-long course that provides training for special education advocates. I have been working as an advocate since 2021.

I have personally navigated the special education process as a parent. Now, I want to help others learn how to advocate for their own children. I know how lonely this process is, and all the emotions that come with it.

I have experienced special education from multiple angles – case manager (Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher), general education teacher, and parent. My ability to see situations from different viewpoints is what helps me work with both parents and educators.

I want to give parents the comfort of knowing they have done everything possible to support their children through this process with confidence.
