Hi, I’m Erica, and I am so glad you’re here.

I am a former teacher (Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, concentration in Deaf Education) and have taught first grade, second grade, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing Early Childhood Special Education. I completed COPAA’s SEAT 2.0 training; a nationally developed and recognized year-long course that provides training for special education advocates. I am also a mother to three wonderful kids, both with and without disabilities.

As a mother, I have personally navigated the special education process. Now, I want to help others learn how to advocate for their own children. I know how lonely this process is, and all the emotions that come with it.

I have experienced special education from multiple angles – case manager (special education teacher), general education teacher, and parent. My ability to see situations from different viewpoints is what helps me work with both parents and educators.

I want to give parents the comfort of knowing they have done everything possible to support their children through this process with confidence.
